internationally

Our mission is to save people’s lives by registering and motivating stem cell donors over the long run in all corners of the globe!

Leukemia knows no bounds! Countless patients worldwide are searching in vain for a matching stem cell donor.

That’s why DKMS (German Bone Marrow Donor Center) is active internationally in order to give patients around the world a chance for life.

Since tissue characteristics differ from region to region, we register stem cell donors in various countries. In this way, we improve the chance for patients in Germany and worldwide of finding a matching stem cell donor.

With this major objective in mind, DKMS has already been active in America since 2005 and in Poland since 2008. We therefore hope to steadily come closer to achieving our goal of finding a matching stem cell donor for each single patient.

DKMS POLAND

A person is diagnosed with leukemia every hour in Poland. Whereas around 80 percent of the patients find a matching donor in Germany after a diagnosis like that, that is only the case for around fifty percent of the patients in Poland.

In order to achieve a decisive improvement here and to expand the donor data available worldwide as well, "DKMS Poland" was founded in 2009. Here, as many citizens as possible should be acquired for the life donation with appeals for donations. DKMS Poland is backed by Coty Inc., the largest perfume company in the world, within the scope of the global "Linked Against Leukemia" cooperation program.
